THE TRUTH ABOUT ARMIE HAMMER, HUNTER BIDEN'S POWER PLAY, PURSUING PURPOSE, & KILL TONY
What is up you beautiful people,
It’s been a while since I’ve written a newsletter (about four months), and I’m excited to say that the lack of newsletter musings has been because of a busy summer filled with content.
First off, I, along with the lovely Sam Nash, have launched a comedy podcast called BREAKING TAKES under the AUXORO Studios umbrella. On BREAKING TAKES, Sam and I give our best unfiltered takes on the latest stories in pop culture, politics, and tech. For a long time, I’ve wanted to start a comedy podcast that goes hard no matter what the topic is in the scope, and that’s what we attempt to do on BREAKING TAKES. Hunter Biden, Lizzo, 9/11, no topic is off limits.
We're 11 episodes deep so please give the show a listen and leave us a rating when you can on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. More ratings tell the overlord algorithm to show BREAKING TAKES to more people and the amount it helps the show grow CANNOT be overstated.
Also, I recorded a bunch new of guest episodes for The AUXORO Podcast these past few months covering the Holocaust Twin studies, UFO attacks on nuclear bases, the power of meditation, the truth about the Armie Hammer allegations, and more.
Launching the new podcast has taken up almost all of my creative free time and I plan on getting back to the once-per-month (more or less) releases of The SOURCE. If you’d like to keep up with weekly episodes of BREAKING TAKES and The AUXORO Podcast beyond what you see in this newsletter, please subscribe to the feeds below to get them sent to directly you on your favorite pod players and get notified every time a new episode drops on YouTube.

On this episode of The AUXORO Podcast, James Kirchick and Zach record a thrilling two-parter. The first half of the episode focuses on James Kirchick's interview with Armie Hammer titled 'Armie Hammer Breaks His Silence' (published by Air Mail Feb 2023), the first and only interview given by Armie Hammer since his alleged sexual abuse claims and blacklisting from Hollywood. The second half of the episode covers James Kirchick's book 'Secret City: The Hidden History Of Gay Washington.' We discuss how homosexuality became intertwined with the heightened threat of communism, the purge of gay employees from the federal government, The Lavender Scare, the courageous story of Frank Cameny, the plot to out Reagan as part of a clandestine homosexual cabal, and the throughlines between the cancellation of Armie Hammer and the gay men in Washington who had their lives destroyed.

SOMETHING I’VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT:
"Enough courage to get started + enough sense to focus on something you’re naturally suited for + enough persistence to stay in the game long enough to catch a few lucky breaks + a lot of hard work. There’s your recipe." - James Clear.
As I write this newsletter from Chitre, Panama, I think I’ve figured out what ‘Hell’ is, or at least my take on it.
At the end of our lives, we have to sit down and watch the version of our most fulfilled life where we reach the peak of our personal human flourishing. No matter what you are doing now, there is a version of you in another fold of the universe that is flourishing to the max. Flourishing has four parts, and it looks different for every person: your relationship with others, your relationship with yourself, purpose, and means.
The peak version of you is someone who has built cherished relationships with family and friends, battled their inner demons, pursued a career doing the work of their true calling, and acquired the means (money) to support loved ones and give back.
When you die and watch the version of yourself where you flourished the most, you’ll cry for one of two reasons:
1) You realize you lived a pretty damn good life, pursued your purpose and made a living doing it, loved the best you could, and you actually lived a life of human flourishing.
2) You realize you took a job and a career for the money, never pursued the things that made you feel alive, valued work over cultivating close friendships, and now you’re watching the version of the life you could have lived if you only took the chance.
There’s still a shit ton I haven’t figured out, but I’m glad I figured these things out early when it comes to human flourishing:
Purpose: No one else can tell you what this is, but you know. You know because you either feel on fire from pursuing your purpose, no matter how small the steps are that you’re taking, or you feel your soul slowly cooling because you’ve chosen something else for some reason (money, comfort, public/family opinion) and you inch further and further from your purpose each day. Listen to that fire because one day that flame will be gone and you’ll never get it back. I started podcasting five years ago and when I did people started opening up to me about their passions and their plan to start something of their own. Podcasts, music, writing, painting, you name it, I’ve talked about it with someone. Out of the 100+ conversations I’ve had where people opened up to me about following their purpose, I can count on ONE HAND the number of those people who started something and are still doing it today. I can’t make you start, but something that lit a fire under me to start podcasting was imagining the version of myself rotting away on calls I don’t give a shit about when I could be recording the coolest conversations of my life. Feed the fire and get hot, or rot. There is no in-between.
Relationships: Just like you schedule time to into your day to take care of work, do the same for having conversations with partners and friends. These moments are just as important (I’d argue more important) as your job, except you have to take responsibility for your own time. Check in. Call a friend on the way to work. Facetime for twenty minutes while drinking a glass of wine (or whiskey). These are the moments that literally determine the outcome of a lifelong friendship, and it doesn’t take much to keep it going. Also, don’t play that game of “I called Jake last so now I won’t reach out unless he call me.” Stop being a pussy and make the call, this isn’t about ego. Besides, how do you even know what’s going on with Jake if you don’t dial? He could need you. One more thing with relationships: BOOK THE DAMN TICKET. Almost all of the most fun trips of my life (friends and solo) have happened because I stopped thinking, booked it, and figured it out later. Life has a funny way of opening up when choose to act boldly. In 10 years, I’m not going to remember sitting on Zoom for a work conference because I didn’t take off on a Friday, but I will remember getting wasted with five friends in Nashville and leaving hungover with a smile on my face.
Means: I’m not the best at money, but I make it work. After five years, I’ve finally started to make some money in podcasting (It’s not Rogan money, but it’s something) and I can see a path to becoming a full-time podcast host. Two years ago, I would’ve said that’d be impossible, but I stayed in the game long enough to catch a few lucky breaks and I ain’t leaving anytime soon. I plan on becoming rich as fuck so I can plan cooler and cooler ways to get hungover with friends, and give a little back along the way.
Get started, or don’t. There’s another version of you that already has, and you can watch them become a best-selling author, sell out shows to thousands of people, or go on life-changing adventures across the globe when you die. It’s either you, or them. Which version will you choose?
WORK OF OTHERS THAT INSPIRES ME:
Damn I love this show. Check out Kill Tony below and don’t ask questions:
Until next time,
Zach
